Gretchen
Rubel
Gretchen received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science
from the University of California, San Diego in 1991. Her passion
for advocacy was evident early in her academic career. As an undergraduate,
Gretchen interned at the San Francisco District Attorney’s
Office and completed a study regarding domestic violence restraining
orders, the findings of which were ultimately presented to the leaders
of the San Francisco public agencies in the field. Prior to attending
law school and throughout her education, Gretchen worked with survivors
of domestic violence, including volunteer positions with Bay Area
shelters and the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
In 1998, Gretchen received her J.D. from Golden Gate University Law School and was admitted to the California Bar. She spent the beginning of her legal career continuing her work with domestic violence survivors, but quickly expanded her practice to working in a non-profit family law agency covering all aspects of family law. Gretchen was pleased to join Hersh FamilyLaw Practice in 2007 to continue practicing family law. Gretchen’s areas of practice include the following: dissolutions, legal separations and annulments; uniform parentage matters; marital property disputes and settlement; extensive custody, child support and spousal support litigation; mediation; and civil restraining order litigation.
